Burger & Sauce to Open at Derbion

October 19, 2022

Burger & Sauce has confirmed it is to open at Derby’s best-loved retail and leisure destination, Derbion.

The franchised fresh burger chain has secured a site in the high-profile shopping centre in the food court, which is currently being refurbished with more than £2 million investment.  Work on the Food Terrace is anticipated to be completed this Autumn, with Burger & Sauce opening before the end of the year.

Saad Masood, who successfully founded Burger & Sauce during the height of the Pandemic confirms:

Derbion is a huge centre which offers a unique shopping experience and Burger & Sauce will now join around 200 major brands represented.  It’s such a sought-after location and we are super excited about securing this prestigious site so early on in our franchised journey!  For Burger & Sauce this will become another flagship store following some of our openings in prominent locations such the Bull Ring and Castle Vale both in Birmingham, in the past two years.

The new Burger & Sauce will take over part of the former Burger King site and will be run by franchisee Subhan Munir who also manages Alum Rock in Birmingham and the recently opened Burger & Sauce in Nottingham.  Burger & Sauce’s fresh burgers topped with a choice of signature sauce, will be served up from the 600 square foot kiosk, with customers invited to enjoy their meal in the communal area of the Food Terrace currently being expanded to seat 800 people.  Delivery options are also available to the 250K population living in Derby.

Will Nelson, Real Estate Advisor, McKinnon Nelson is the consultant and lead property advisor for Burger & Sauce franchise’s expansion and supports franchisees to help them secure the best sites on the best terms.   He confirms: “The brand is attracting attention for all the right reasons, and this quite literally opens doors with some of the bigger landlords occupying prime retail locations.  Derbion is the first in a series of new Burger & Sauce openings across the Midlands and we are working with landlords in the region to look at other exciting locations for the future too.

Adam Tamsett, centre director at Derbion, added:

With the £2 million refurbishment of the Food Terrace well underway, we’re delighted to announce that Burger & Sauce will join the existing line-up and bring a whole new atmosphere to dining at Derbion.

We’re always on the lookout for new brands and experiences that our customers will enjoy, and we’re excited to be able to welcome Burger & Sauce to our refreshed Food Terrace later this year.

The new Burger & Sauce in the Food Terrace will join existing brands including Subway, GDK and KFC, as well as Derbion’s eight standalone restaurants, including Wagamama, Carluccio’s, Nando’s, Pizza Express, Fridays, Five Guys and soon to open Popeyes®.

Burger & Sauce is currently recruiting for ambitious individuals to grow the franchised brand around two hours’ drive from Birmingham, in addition to master franchisees who are interested in larger multi-store development agreements slightly further afield too.  More opportunities will become available for locations all over the UK Burger & Sauce grows.
